How to insert, remove, and clean your discs.

Inserting the Disc

If you are sterilizing and using your R/disc for the first time, sterilize the disc for at least 15-20 minutes.

Prepping your hands

Wash your hands thoroughly, preferably using an unscented antibacterial hand soap.

Folding the R/disc

Take your newly sanitized disc and pinch two opposite sides of the rim together into an 8-shape or into what looks like a folded taco

Inserting the R/disc

Relax and insert the disc into your vagina.

Pushing the R/disc

Push the disc until it reaches the vaginal fornix close to the cervix or until you reach the furthermost part of your vaginal canal.

Tucking the R/disc

Tilt the disc and tuck the side nearest to the vulva behind the pubic bone.

Done!

Carry on with your day as usual and be protected for up to 12 hours.

Removing the Disc

Prepping your hands

Wash your hands thoroughly, preferably using an unscented antibacterial hand soap.

Reaching for the R/disc

Reach for the rim of your menstrual disc.

Hooking your finger

Hook your finger on the rim of the disc.

Removing the R/disc

Untuck the disc from the pubic bone then pull the disc towards the vulva, keeping it horizontal to avoid spillage.

Rinsing the R/disc

Rinse the cup with running water.

Reinserting or sterilizing

Reinsert the disc following the insertion instructions (if the period is still ongoing) or sterilize following the sterilizing instructions (if the period has ended).
