How to insert, remove, clean, and trim the cups.

Inserting the Cup

If you are sterilizing and using your R/cup for the first time, sterilize the cup for at least 15-20 minutes.

Prepping your hands

Wash your hands thoroughly, preferably using an unscented antibacterial hand soap.

Folding the R/cup

Take your newly sanitized cup and fold it. Tip:

Inserting the R/cup

Relax and insert the cup into your vagina. Let the cup unfold.

Positioning the R/cup

Ensure that the cup has properly opened by twisting the cup or running your index finger along the lip of the cup. Push the cup a little deeper to a comfortable position.

Done!

Carry on with your day as usual and be protected for up to 12 hours.

Removing the Cup

Prepping your hands

Wash your hands thoroughly, preferably using an unscented antibacterial hand soap.

Reaching for the R/cup

WIth one hand, reach for the stem of your menstrual cup.

Breaking the suction

Pinch the base of the cup and tug slightly to break the suction.

Removing the R/cup

Pull the cup towards the vulva and remove the cup entirely.

Rinsing the R/cup

Rinse the cup with running water. If you choose to wash it with soap, use a mild unscented soap. 

Reinserting or sterilizing

Reinsert the cup following the insertion instructions (if the period is still ongoing) or sterilize following the sterilizing instructions (if the period has ended). 

Trimming the Cup

Insert the cup following the insertion instructions.

Identifying the discomfort

Identify if the stem is protruding and is causing a slight discomfort.

Determining the length

Determine the length needed to be trimmed from the stem.

Trimming the stem

Trim a shorter length than the previously determined length using a clean pair of scissors.

Reinserting the R/cup

Reinsert the cup and determine if the cup is still causing a slight discomfort.

Re-trimming

Trim again if needed/desired in small increments.
